what we see and having travelled down the path I’m on now,
I’ve now learnt that there is more than what we can prove scientifically.
Take hypnotherapy for example. I didn’t believe that there
were two parts of the mind, our conscious mind and
our unconscious mind, until a hypnotherapist, about 15
years ago, asked me a question to which my conscious
mind replied, quite haughtily, ‘I don’t know that’s why I’m
here’ and as I was about to say that out loud, a bit less rudely,
my unconscious mind eloquently responded with the answer
to the root of my problems. As that was happening my conscious mind was answering ‘Wow, I did
know that, fancy that!’ I remember being astonished and feeling an observer of my other part of my
mind that I had always ignored, talking such sense, and vowed to be more open to things in future.
I have had countless other experiences like that and it’s taught me that you have to believe and trust
and enjoy reaping the benefits however they occur. For example the Placebo effect says it all (please
check out my blog on The Placebo Effect), which shows that many drugs work mostly due to the fact
we think they will work rather than the drug itself. However, whatever route your mind and body decide
to get better then does it really matter. Why not go with the flow and trust your mind to get you
better and feel the best you can… because it will if you let it and focus it in the right way.
Being sceptical can be a strength however there are times when its vital that we follow our gut instinct
and listen to our unconscious minds in order for us to be our authentic and true selves (however
clichéd that sounds).
I offer a range of skills linking the mind and body using Hypnotherapy, Time Line Therapy, NLP,
Holistic Therapies Therapeutic Massage and Nutrition rather than treating each separately.
