The first group were given a shake containing 3oz of ground peanuts, and the second group had the same shake but without the peanuts. The first group showed signs of improved heart health and vascular function compared to the second group who did not have the peanuts. The results of the heart health tests indicated a lower risk of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease in the peanut group.
Other studies have shown that those who eat peanuts more than twice a week have a lower risk of coronary heart disease. Like most things eaten in moderation, peanuts are a healthy snack when eaten as part of a healthy diet. Remember to choose the unsalted versions though! http://www.mind-bodywellness.co.uk/nutrition--diet.html
